TSKD 185 Released

Click this thing.

Some Japanese people stared at me as if I was weird today because I refused to eat oak leaves.

Edit: If you’re curious about the oak leaf thing, google kashiwa mochi.

  1. “These oak leaves are NOT edible; however, as they are wrapped around mochi, the nice earthy fragrance transfers to the mochi and it’s quite enjoyable.”

  2. That’s interesting – I’ve been told to eat the leaf with sakura mochi but not kashiwa mochi. But I suppose if it was made from dried leaves, and they had to soak/boil them first to soften them up, I would think most of the tannins would have been leeched out so would probably be ok.
