TSKD 225 Released

225

So someone made a pretty good suggestion and informed me that it would be better for me to create a preview page for the next chapter instead of just creating a blank page to count refreshes. Yeah, I’m going to be doing that from now on.

Someone else (two people, in fact) told me that they wanted me to slow down my releases. (Check 224 release post comments for details.) Let me know if you agree or disagree with this. People actually wanting slower releases kind of confuses me. A lot.

Also, since the chapter previews will now contain their titles, I’ll be including 2 title previews at the end of each release post, as having just 1 would be pointless.

    1. I can kind of understand, if that was done then he could also be able to set up a bunch as backlog. In which case, even when he’s busy IRL he can still put out chapters on a regular basis. And with a backlog he can just keep on translating.

So the guy who mentioned this seemed to be under the assumption that at your current TL rate you’d catch up to the author and we’d suffer from an unstable release rate, which you debunked.

There is absolutely no reason I can fathom for wanting slower releases; I’d chalk them up to a minority. As for his argument of having more time to discuss releases, he has a full day to do so in that very comment section. I don’t really see what he was trying to get at there.

    1. I can somewhat agree with slowing down a little, but only if you really want to. If it’s not hard for you to translate at the rate you are going then that’s good but, if I was doing it I’d give myself a day of once a week. I think it might be good for you to at least think about doing that even if your not pushing yourself to translate at the pace you are at.

      1. I get where you are coming from, and completely agree that Tentacle should TL at his own pace. I’m only referring to one of the commenters in the way I am because he seems to concern himself only with avoiding unstable releases rather than worrying for Tantacle’s well-being. Speaking of which, Tentacle mentioned this series is very easy to translate. I’d like to think it isn’t very taxing on him, but I wouldn’t know for sure. All I know is I am grateful for his speed and quality TLs.

  2. Personally I say just release based on what works best on your schedule (so basically how it is currently). I like the multi chapter weekends/whenever you have time but I support you delaying it if you have work or a new game dropped since this is your side hobby. Basically I don’t mind the slightly inconsistent schedule.

    1. and author relases 2-3 new chapters per week, so no fear of cathing up and even if you do, translating chapters the same pace as the author is not bad at all.

So, I would like to take my words back and eat them. I really do have to apologize for making ruckus.

  4. I am also against slower releases. If someone wants to read at a slower pace than they should do that on their own and not drag everyone down to their pace.
But if you yourself want to slow down for whatever reason that’s fine of course. Just don’t let anyone else make that decision for you.

  5. Regardless of whether there’s a good reason to want slower releases or not… just do what you want to do 😡 we’re just here leeching off your hard work anyway, haha. More like, the number of people who even bother to post probably pale compared to the total number of unique readers, so even if you do get a lot of comments that doesn’t necessarily represent everyone, or even a majority.

  6. Honestly I can kinda see where they are coming from. Probably to slow down releases for your own health’s sake rather than them wanting fewer releases per week.
Personally I think that as long as you’re up for it and its not wrecking your health then by all means release as much as you want. Regardless I’m going to be here for each release

  8. Well as much as I want to read more chapters per week, I can’t understand of the possibility of a burnout which happens to a lot of other translators for other series.

So I would say just release whenever your Real life schedules allows you and I doubt anyone here would really complaint much because of it.

Thanks again for the chapter and keep up the good work

  9. most situations where the release would be a need to slow is down is if it started getting in the way of health, work, study, family, etc.
Leaving aside the assumption of the second comment that you’d catch up with the author.
One of the comments wanted to have more time to discuss the chapters.
While is good and all to build spectatives and theories in communities and such, it’s not something to be done imediatly as the chapter comes.
That can be done even if the next chapters are already updated.
Actually it’s something normal in reading sections of irl books to make theories of the next chapter the group is reading and such.
So there’s no problem in having longer release,if that’s what you want.

    1. Shorter release time*
Tho at tihis point, it’s safe to say that you shouldn’t worry with the being slow when there’s something you need to do.
And arguments about being too fast that’s does not involve your schedules, health, desire, etc an be simply be solved by people reading it later when they want.

  10. I can’t help but assume people are trolling when they’re saying they want slower releases. Unless they’re worried about the TL getting burnt out and quit in which case by all means since your release speed is incredible but i don’t see why any readers would willingly ask for fewer releases.

  12. Same here. I’m against Slower Releases. If people want to read slower, they can do that. Unless it’s you that needs to slow down, I don’t think the majority of your viewers would like slower releases.

This is actually my favorite novel I follow right now just because the quality and speed are Soooo good.

  13. Can you tell us who are they.
We will only talk to them the greatness of the current release speed.

Dont mind the baseball bat and crowbar behind our backs.

That’s easy, Cherche. They are secret agents of some publishing company, Y*n Press or J-Nov*l or maybe even TokyoP*p. They don’t have any legal ways to stop you yet, so they post confusing messages to make you waste time.

Or maybe they are some other translators. Probably someone slow and bad and with a patreon, someone who translates only for $100 per chapter in donations, someone who splits chapters into 20 different pages filled with ads… Your work ethics make them look bad in comparison, which in turn can affect their stream of revenue. They want you to stop and will do anything to achieve that. My suggestion: don’t go outside too often.

    1. “someone who translates only for $100 per chapter in donations”
‘The Death Mage Who Doesn’t Want a Fourth Time’ seems to be like that on LightNovelBastion. They haven’t uploaded anything since last week beacuse noone gave them money this week.
I mean translators do God’s work but 100$ per chapter seems greedy? I am a poor student and even if I wanted to sponsor them, the amount is just ridiculous.

  15. Well, another way you can see it, you can do a slower release but with more than one chapter. Triple? Quadruple?
    Heck!!!
I enjoy reading a very very long isekai adventure story anyway. The longer the better!!!
Especially the ones that would end at the best moments, at the peak. At those chapters it is better to release slower but with a BOOM!!!
    Or so I think

  18. Slower releases? Hell no, lol. I really appreciate the pace, frankly. Even if you caught up it’d just mean you could translate something else (if you wanted to).

  19. Another option is to disable the “next” button when there’s no more chapter. Then you don’t have to do extra work making a preview and then replacing it, and people won’t be confused about what the latest chapter is.

  20. Thanks for the quick release. I appreciate the fast release and hope it continues. I know this is a work of passion so its really up to you. plus at this rate you will catch up arround 6 months so just do what you want to do. for me it gives me great pleasure to refresh your page 5 times a day hopping for another release once again thanks for your work.

  21. I love your fast and sometime multiple releases – my thoughts on going slower echo a lot of your readers, we want you to go fast or as fast as humanly or decency allows.

We want you to release at your pace or do as how you like, whether it be fast or slow. We do care about your health & understand if RL gets in the way sometimes. So don’t dwell too much on the haters or those who want you to do something you normally wouldn’t do.

TLDR: We love your fast release, screw the haters, & work/release/translate at your own pace 😀

  23. Thx for the chapter o/
as someone who studies Psycologie, i can attest to the fact that these constant releases have a addicting effect on the readers, since constant reinforcement like the constant realeases make it more common for us to check for updates and keep the information from previous chapters fresh on the memory. Also constant release helps attract new readers since the name of the WN constantly poping on Novel updates gives this site more chances of been noticed by new readers. On the other hand if this pace is too hard for you, than even with these advantages you should prioritize a pace that you like.

  24. Just do it on your pace. Be it fast release or slow you decide it. You are the translator, not us. If you talk to us and everyone asked to make steady release, you will got bored translating easily. Many translator get that result after consulting to reader, so please, DO AT YOUR OWN PACE, DONT ASK OUR OPINION, i beg you. Since if you got sick because rl and translating burden your body, we cant get new chapter >_> i know, i just leeching here but hey, your own body & real life are priority. So i beg you again, please do at your own pace XD

  25. Most people already covered my thoughts on the subject it seems. Translate at whatever pace you’re comfortable with. Slow down if needed for your health, other hobbies or if you’re feeling burnt out. I have to agree that a commenter advocating slower releases is very strange though. XD

  26. It’s entirely up to you. Since your doing everything for free, I don’t see any way(besides donations) to have any say in your release speed.
When you catch up, you’ll be releasing the chapters as they come out and you have time for tls, right? What’s so bad about that?
Unless someone wants to license it, there is no point in stopping or slowing you down.

  27. I am personally fine with you translating and releasing at whatever pace you want, and I’m definitely not complaining about fast releases. The only thing I do have to say is that it might be a good idea to reserve some already-translated but unreleased chapters so that you have something to fall back on in case you don’t have the time or otherwise can’t translate for some reason. Basically, set a certain number of releases for a day, and stockpile any additional chapters you translate that day. This way, you’d have something to release even if you haven’t translated anything on a given day.

  28. I think I understand the point that the person was trying to make about slower releases, but I am personally not for it. A new translated chapter is a very big deal to me, and I think the current release speed is great. Wouldn’t mind it being faster (although my school work would definitely suffer), but a new chapter every 1-3 days is excellent in my opinion. Having releases slow down would be too much for my soul to handle.

  29. Just my opinion, but don’t listen to this people that say to slow down, they may be not true fans, please please keep the good job, I need you translation to live, look at the desperation of the person huahauhauhauhau

  30. If you can handle the pace and are fine with it, I don’t see why there is any need to slow down. I don’t think we will be catching up to the author anytime soon.

And honestly I don’t think discussing a chapter takes multiple days.
