I wish I was less busy and had more time to prepare.
Going by what I recently learned about AAA companies, do not touch them if you have a choice. Unreasonable demands on the rank and file employees, random layoffs, other questionable practices and the resulting stress, you’re only going to hurt yourself.

I understand. Lots of poop to pack in flammable bags if you’re planning to hit up Ubisoft, EA, Activision, and so on.

As a gameplay programmer myself: Avoid AAA like the plague if you’re able.
Crunch is awful, and job security (depending on your field) generally sucks with the big companies.

I hear ya, that’s a very fair warning. I do want at least 2 shipped AAA titles under my belt, however. Just for the experience so I have the option of going into it again if I so choose.
